Issey Miyake L'eau d'Issey for Men
This classic woody aquatic fragrance for men was built in 1994, and has seen continued success since. Drawing inspiration from original colognes like 4711, L'eau d'Issey revived the classic aromatic citric fresh scent that has since inspired slam-dunks like Acqua di Gio and Light Blue. Issey Miyake was the first of these colognes to straddle the line between the ancient and the cutting edge. Jacques Cavallier is the master fragrance chef behind all of this. Top notes are yuzu, lemon, bergamot, vervain, mandarin orange, cypress, calone, coriander, tarragon and sage. The middle notes are blue lotus, nutmeg, lily-of-the-valley, saffron, cinnamon, geranium and mignonette. The base notes are vetiver, musk, cedar, sandalwood, tobacco and amber. This rich and varied pyramid has an overall aromatic citrus result, one that wears quite personally on the skin and glimmers differently on any one person from another.
