Guerlain Shalimar EDC

Guerlain Shalimar EDC: 2.5 oz

This amber spicy fragrance for ladies of luxury was released back in 1925. Just like many of the company's other variants, this one has stood the test of time and managed to titillate on the pulse points of millions for decades. Shalimar is the name of multiple famous gardens in India, and this perfume pays tribute to the richly varied and exotic flora that bedeck these verdant malls. The note profile is fresh and oriental, an amber spicy full of Sindhi accords. The top notes are bergamot, lemon, mandarin orange and cedar. At the heart, notes are iris, vetiver, patchouli, jasmine and rose. Anchoring the classic fragrance are leather, vanilla, incense, opoponax, benzoin, sandalwood, civet, balsam and musk. As Amy Woodforde-Finden wrote in her famous poem in 1901:

Pale hands I loved beside the Shalimar,

Where are you now? Who lies beneath your spell?

Whom do you lead on Rapture's roadway, far,
Before you agonise them in farewell?
Don't be surprised if you develop a train of people who can't stop smelling you!
