Guerlain Mitsouko
A chypre fruity fragrance for ladies of luxury, this perfume celebrated its hundredth birthday recently. Jacques Guerlain himself crafted this perfume in 1919, and he did it with such prescience and vision that it remains largely unchanged up to today. The note profile exhibits why. The top notes are bergamot, rose, jasmine and citruses. The heart notes are peach, ylang-ylang, lilac, rose and jasmine. As anchors, notes of oakmoss, spice, vetiver, cinnamon and amber round out this timeless fragrance. The story of the name of this perfume is that Mitsouko carries on torrid affairs with two men, both of whom sail off to battle in the navy, leaving her to wonder with apprehension which, if either, will reutrn home to her. The difference between the perfume and the story, however, is that you will attract the interest of far more than two suitors when you strut with this gorgeous beauty astride your wrist and neck.
