This classic yellow eau de toilette, known as Giorgio Yellow or simply Giorgio, is the fountainhead of an empire. The first perfume to grace the hallowed boutique tables of Fred and Gale Hayman's Beverly Hills store was this, the lithe and curvaceous avatar of the brand. Before "Delicious," before Hollywood, before Wings, this market test of general interest in a perfume out of 273 Rodeo Dr was wildly more successful than the Haymans ever could have guessed or hoped. Released in 1981, this old-school perfume is still being remixed to this day, including a Chic Collector's Edition in 2017. The fruity floral uncoils sensuously with a grand sillage. Apricot, orange blossom, peach and bergamot give way to a decadent heart of white flowers: tuberose, gardenia, jasmine, as well as rose and the hallmark of mid-late twentieth century perfume, ylang-ylang. A rich and complex base of oakmoss, amber, vanilla, patchouli, musk, chamomile, cedar and sandalwood fills out the pyramid.
