Dior Diorissimo

Diorissimo by Christian Dior hit the shelves in 1956. It's refreshing and daring; it can be worn any season, but the colder weather seasons are what it goes with best.

The top notes are green leaves and bergamot. The heart notes are lily-of-the-valley, jasmine, ylang-ylang and boronia. The base is civet and sandalwood.

There is a story that inspired this perfume. According to the legend a fearless fighter, Saint Leonard, wanted to spend his days among nature and live a life dedicated to God. He asked God to allow him live in the woods.

A dragon, Temptation, lived in those same woods. They fought and St Leonard bravely defeated him, and both of their blood was spilled. Poisonous weeds grew where the dragon spilled blood, but beds of lily- of-the-valley grew whene moistened with Saint Leonard's blood. The French believe that lily-of-the valley is a holy flower and so did Christian Dior, so he created this fragrance. Diorissimo is a beautiful and a must-have spray from Dior.
